Staff Requirements
All staff employed by Learning Bees are eighteen (18) years of age. Our staff understand children and their developmental need and can relate to them with courtesy, respect, patience, affection, and respect for the child’s family and culture. They each have completed an extensive health appraisal including:

A physical examination and tuberculosis risk assessment, prior to employment and every two years thereafter

An assessment of current immunization status and health related limitations or communicable diseases that may impair the person’s ability to perform the job.
About the Owner - Joyce Nyan
Joyce Nyan, Owner of Learning Bees, LLC. Resident of Martinsburg, WV for over five years. My educational background includes a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in public policy from Shepherd University, B. A. in English, B.S. Information Technology, and a Business Administration Minor from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. I have worked for numerous Fortune 500 companies, including Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, DC and Lockheed Martin in Maryland in the capacities of Systems Analyst and Human Resources.
I walked away from the standard 9-5 corporate world to become a stay-at-home mom to our Princess to capture all the FIRST as they unfolded; the first coos, the first steps, the first “dada and mama”, the first EVERYTHING! Best decision by far I have ever made! A year later I decided to venture into child care. I have been a licensed Child Care Facility in Martinsburg, WV for four years. The children at Learning Bees and their families have become a part of my very own. Learning Bees has had a positive impact in the Martinsburg, WV community.
Staff Training
They each have successfully completed CPR training/first aid training that includes rescue breathing and first aid choking, or shall do so within the first 6 months of employment. They each have completed a self-study pocket on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and Shaken Baby Syndrome in order to care for children less than 13 months of age. They are each required to complete 15 clock hours of training relevant to the provision of child care annually.
